Privacy Policy – App Updater: Software Update
This Privacy Policy explains how the App Updater: Software Update Android application ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), published by Fiaz Ahmed Apps, handles information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Overview
The App helps you manage the apps on your device. It checks installed apps for updates, uninstalls apps, and shows app usage, data usage, battery information and app permissions. Most of this work happens on your device.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos or location.
2. Information the App Reads on Your Device
- Installed apps: names, package names, icons, version numbers, and install and update dates of apps that appear in your launcher. This is used to list your apps and check them for updates.
- App and data usage (only if you grant Usage Access): screen time per app and mobile/Wi-Fi data used per app.
- Battery and device details: battery level, health, temperature and charging state, plus basic device and Android version information.
- App permissions: the permissions that other installed apps request, shown in the Privacy Manager.
- Network status: whether you are online, so the App can check for updates.
Usage, data, battery and permission information is processed on your device and is not uploaded by us.
3. Information Sent Off Your Device
Update check: to find out whether newer versions are available, the App sends the package names of your installed apps over a secure HTTPS connection to our version-check service (vivatechsolution.com). The service compares them with the latest versions on Google Play. A country/region code may also be sent so that results match your Play Store region.
No name, account, contact or location information is sent with this request.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following services. Each one may collect information, such as device identifiers, IP address and usage data, under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob: shows ads in the free version. It may use the advertising ID to show personalized or non-personalized ads, based on your consent. Google ads policy
- Google User Messaging Platform: asks for ad consent where the law requires it (for example, in the EEA and UK).
- Google Play Billing: processes premium purchases. We never receive your card or payment details. Google Payments privacy notice
- Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config and Cloud Messaging: help us understand app usage, fix crashes, improve speed, adjust settings and send notifications. Firebase privacy
See also the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Permissions We Use
- Internet, Network State, Wi-Fi State: check for updates, load ads and show connection status.
- Usage Access (optional, granted by you in Settings): show app screen time and data usage.
- Request Delete Packages: open Android's uninstall dialog when you choose to remove an app. Every uninstall is confirmed by you.
- Notifications: tell you when updates are available.
- Vibrate, Wake Lock: used for notifications and background update checks.
The App does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call logs or files.
6. Data Storage and Retention
Settings and app lists are stored locally on your device and are removed when you clear the App's data or uninstall it. Package names sent for update checks are used only to return version results. Data collected by the third-party services above is kept according to their own policies.
7. Data Security
All network communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Choices
